With Making Cents, users can input their available funds, sum up the prices of desired items, apply tax rates, and instantly view the final amount. This functionality enables individuals to determine if they possess sufficient funds to make a purchase inclusive of taxes.
The application boasts easily accessible visual buttons like Start Over, Erase (for clearing Have or Buy values individually), Have, Buy, Tax, +, -, and =. To utilize Making Cents:
- Enter the amount of money you possess
- Input the total cost of your desired purchase
- Tap on the Tax button
- Receive your results promptly to ascertain affordability
Making Cents incorporates a range of sensory features such as:
- Visual aspects that include vibrant colors and iconography like green thumbs-up for approval and red thumbs-down for insufficient funds
- Auditory feedback with talking buttons offering actionable insights on available funds and desired purchases while the thumbs-up or thumbs-down deliver affirmative or negative responses based on affordability
- Kinesthetic and tactile functionalities through touch screen activation and responsive touch buttons or text
Additional settings in Making Cents allow users to:
- Easily configure or update the tax rate to align with city or county standards
- Toggle the voice feature on/off (set to default 'on')
- Benefit from automatic retention of last settings
- Reset tax rates back to the default 8%
